How to Read / Study the Holy Bible.  Written By Manashantii. Thursday 24th March 2016 (Maundy Thursday)

These are methods I have created and use for the reading and studying the Holy Bible. I hope you find it useful. These methods are examples I have created. You can make up or follow your own approach to studying the Holy Bible if you wish.

The Holy Bible purifies and restrengthens your spirit, soul and body. The Holy Bible nourishes and matures the human spirit.

 

Read:-  Ephesians 1v17-18

17  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Matthew 7v7 (Jesus said:- ) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; I and it shall be opened unto you:

 

Psalms ( in The Holy Bible ) are prayer songs, prayer poems, and journalled prayers; you can use the Psalms to Pray or use the Psalms to inspire you to pray to God or ask God questions.

Have a relationship with God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit,

To read the Holy Bible slowly is to Listen to God.

Always ask for God’s forgiveness and repent first before you pray.                                                                                                                                        ( Psalm 51 is a good prayer example / Psalm of repentance.)

To pray is to talk to God.

 

Method 1.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Pray asking God for forgiveness, you must repent and confess your sins. Resolve all relationship conflicts.

Pray for the Spirit of wisdom, understanding and revelation from the Holy Spirit.

Open your mouth and begin to Bless the Lord, praise God spontaneously.

Speak out aloud Thanking God for everything He does in your life.

Praise God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus with your mouth with your own words.

Worship with singing.

Pray for :- 1. Pray against attacks of the enemy. 2. Unsaved souls, 3. Pray for your enemies, forgive and bless them.    4. Weak, unwell and sick people. 5. Family and friends 6. Leaders of all religions, Christian Preachers, Pastors and Teachers.         7. Government and Authority. 8. Pray for your Church, Churches in general and persecuted Christians. 9. Myself.

Read to study God’s word. Read to practice devotion and worship.

Read the chosen passage or book in The Holy Bible slowly,

Re-Read aloud slowly and listen, try to understand as you read.

The Holy Spirit will remind and reveal to you His thoughts through the Holy Bible.

Obey God’s instructions.

What does the passage mean?

Listen to the passage on audio,

Pray about the Scripture,

Pray to God using the scriptures to talk to God one to three verses at a time; so you read the one verse (or up to three verses) then pray about what you have read. Then you read a little further, and then you pray.

*Speak about the passage, (If you have someone to study with)

*Discuss the passage, (If you have someone to study with)

Observe,

Re-Read again what you have read, repeat it to yourself aloud like an echo verse by verse.

Memorise,

Write,

Re-write,

Memorise,

Take notes,

Reflect,

Pray.

Thank God for the opportunity to be in worship with Him.

Praise God to finish.

 

Method 2.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you, giving you wisdom and understanding.

Open your mouth and begin to bless the Lord spontaneously.

Pray asking God for forgiveness and you must repent completely.

Thank God for everything He does in your life.

Praise God.

Read the Holy Bible slowly.

Re-Read again slowly.

You can also sing a Christian song or two sing aloud or quietly in your head with passion and love.

When you read The Holy Bible read aloud gently, slowly, passionately and lovingly because God is talking to you and you are talking to God.

Write down what you have learned.

Memorise some of what you have read.

Read aloud and listen to what you written.

Reflect.

When you have finished pray afterwards.

Thank God for the opportunity to worship and praise Him.

 

Method 3.

Pray asking God for forgiveness and genuinely repent.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to be present and guide you.

Begin to bless the Lord aloud.

Thank God for everything He does in your life.

Read slowly.

Re-Read twice again slowly.

Read the cross reference.

Reflect on what you have read.

Ask the Holy Spirit to explain it to you.

Pray about the passage.

Question. What is God saying ?

Write down the passage or verse.

Write down what you have learned.

Memorise what you have learned.

Or memorise a verse.

Use the verse you have memorised to pray. ( Praying Scripture.)

Thank God for the opportunity to worship and praise Him.

Praise God.

 

Method 4.

Pray with a repentant heart asking for forgiveness.

Sing worship songs.

Begin to bless the Lord aloud.

Thank God for everything He does in your life.

Praise The Holy Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit)

Praise God.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Read the Holy Bible slowly.

Re-Read again slowly.

Think about the meaning of what you read.

Pray to God, Holy Spirit and Jesus about what you have read.

Write down what you have learned, taking notes also.

Memorise what you have read.

Thank God for the opportunity to be with Him in praise and worship.

 

Method 5.

Repent of your sins through prayer ask God for forgiveness.

Sing worship songs.

Begin to bless the Lord aloud and spontaneously.

Thank God for everything He does in your life.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Praise God for all He does for you.

Thank Jesus, God the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Pray.

Read the Holy Bible slowly.

Study.

Reflect on what you have read.

Re-read slowly in a passionate and lovingly way.

(God is talking to you and you are talking to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit)

What is God saying?

What does the passage mean?

Pray about the passage.

Memorise what you have learned or memorise a phrase.

Use what you have memorised to pray. (Praying Scripture)

Visualise what you read.

Read the cross reference.

Be Holy Spirit led.

Explore the emotions in the passage.

Think about the meaning of what you have read.

Re-write and take notes.

Listen to your voice reading the passage in the Bible.

And Or :- Listen to the passage of the Holy Bible by using an audio Bible to listen.

Pray Scripture.

Thank God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for the passage that you have read.

Thank God for the opportunity to praise and worship Him.

 

Method 6.

Pray for forgiveness and repent.

Sings songs of worship.

Begin to bless the Lord aloud spontaneously.

Thank God for everything He does in your life.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Read The Holy Bible slowly.

Listen to God in Silence

Take notes and rewrite what you have read.

Memorise what you have read.

Pray

Read The Holy Bible slowly again.

Listen to God in Silence

Pray to finish

Thank God for the opportunity to praise and worship Him.

Praise God.

 

Method 7.

Pray for forgiveness and repent of your sins.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Begin to bless the Lord aloud spontaneously.

Thank God for everything He does in your life.

Praise God, Jesus and Holy Spirit with your own words.

Worship and Give Thanks To God.

Study a theme or topic in the Holy Bible

OR Read a chapter or a book in the Holy Bible slowly.

Re-Read again slowly.

Memorise what you have read.

Re-write and take notes.

Thank God for everything He does in your life.

 

Method 8.

Pray for forgiveness and repent of your sins.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Bless The Lord and praise God aloud spontaneously.

Thank God for everything He does in your life.

Read and listen to God’s (His) word in the Holy Bible slowly.

Make written or mental notes.

Re-Read again slowly

Memorise what you have read.

Pray to finish

Thank God for everything He does in your life.

Praise God.

 

Method 9 

Pray to God asking for forgiveness.

Praise God.

Thank God  for what He has done for you and others.

Worship

Read The Holy Bible quietly and slowly

Listen and read aloud slowly again.

Write and re-write what you have learned.

Study

Visualise what you have studied

Reflect on what you have studied

Pray using the scripture

Memorise what you have studied

 

Method 10

Pray

Praise God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Sing

Pray

Read The Holy Bible slowly.

Re-Read again slowly.

Discuss and or Reflect

Write and re-write and paraphrase what you have learned.

Memorise what you have read.

Pray and also ask God for His forgiveness.

Thank God for what you have received and learned

 

Method 11

Prayer walk

Spend time in nature Praising God

Read books that help your Christian life

Read the Holy Bible study the passage slowly.

Re-Read again slowly

Write and re-write and paraphrase what you have learned.

Memorise what you have read.

Pray and ask God for forgiveness.

Thank God for everything He does for you.

Have Spirit-filled boldness

Pray to finish

 

Method 12

Read the Holy Bible slowly.

Re-Read again slowly.

Study the passage.

Write and Re-write and paraphase what you have learned.

Memorise what you have read.

Reflect.

Sing

Pray asking God for forgiveness and also thank God for His mercy.

Pray

 

Method 13

Pray

Read Passage in the Holy Bible slowly.

Pray Spiritual Warfare prayers.

Quiet Listening

Thanks and Praises.

Re-Read and memorise what you have read.

Pray asking for forgiveness.

 

Method 14

Pray

Read The Holy Bible slowly

Memorise what you have read.

Reflect on what you have read and take written notes

Pray and thank God and the Holy Spirit for revealing to you what you have received and learned.

Pray asking God for forgiveness.

 

Method 15 

Pray, Thanksgiving and Praising God.

Sing.

Read prayerfully patiently and observatory.

Re-Read to digest what you have learned.

Read to learn something new.

Read a new chapter and study it.

Take notes in your note book.

Reflect on what you have read and learned.

Pray thanking God.

Pray about anything you need to pray about, use your prayer list.
